You’re Only a Stranger
100 Lyrics into Stories — No38
“How are you here?” I asked the ghost when she appeared at the foot of my bed one night in December.
She wore a flower crown in her pale hair as she cocked her head. “Do you think you’re the only one who can use magic?”
I felt a trickle of fear pass through me. “Magic?” I laughed. “Hardly. Or do you call mind control magic?”
“It’s a kind of magic,” she said. Then she walked towards me, her hand outstretched. “Do you trust me?”
“No,” I said.
She smiled. “But you will.”
And somehow I knew she wasn’t lying.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Only a Stranger” from Victoria Justice.
