Oh, how do we fare, love, in a world gone mad?

The shadows linger in every corner, and I’m lost in a labyrinth where every dead end is another shot to my heart.

But there you are, the light of my universe, making the difficult seem easy in scattered fragments.

What would I do without you? I don’t want to know the answer.

Every word you speak is a balm to my senses. You are the calm before the storm, and the waves on the shore seem far off when I’m standing beside you, your hand in mine.

Once, I would have said my problems were as numerous as the stars in the sky.

But that isn’t true — not with you.

You are the unshakable foundation, and I don’t think anyone could ever break you.

Sometimes I feel weak by comparison, but I’ve seen the scars on your hands.

The strength you have has been won over time.

Why can’t I be more like you?

When did I start believing the happily-ever-after was possible?

Not until you, you, you.

Let the shadows come for me, if they must. I’ll still be able to see your light in the darkness.
