Remy couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen a regular bar. The bomb blast had annihilated everything within the vicinity that had once resembled ordinary life — whatever that was, now that it was gone.

But Drey had managed to find a bottle of vodka in one of the bunkers. With dirty glasses smudged with grime, they found themselves toasting to the apocalypse. “Cheers, lovely girl,” he said.

She tried to smile, but it came out as a grimace.

“Do you think anyone else is alive out there?” she asked quietly.

“Who knows? If we’re all that’s left, maybe it’s best.”

This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Good Luck, Babe!” from Chappell Roan.
