Xyndria the Great

100 Faces in 100 Stories — No27

--

No one said it was easy to kill a figurehead.

Xyndria was a rebel turned politician in the Four Circles, and rumor had it she had stabbed someone straight through the heart after he had tried to poison her. As the assassin lay dying, she supposedly looked down and smirked at her handiwork.

Her guards rarely had to intervene because she was more capable than any other waif in court.

Once upon a time, I loved her as if she were my own sister.

But I had seen the cruelty beginning to brew in her eyes.

She had to die.
