Would You Lie With Me and Just Forget the World?
100 Lyrics into Stories — No100
The man walked through the desolate town he had once called home. It was now desolate because it had been destroyed in the raids. He looked around him with something like disbelief as his eyes snagged on an abandoned baby doll, its remaining arm chewed through by some wild animal.
Then he looked up and saw a fellow survivor standing there, the woman’s eyes forlorn as she stared at the burnt-out remains of a vehicle that hadn’t made it past the border.
Her gaze traveled to him, and their eyes met.
They shared a silent history in only moments.
This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Chasing Cars” from Snow Patrol.
