He stood at the edge of the amusement park, fleeting in its beautiful tranquility, as if one moment it would be there and the next it would be gone. Life existed in that strange in-between, that ephemeral phase, that hopeful note of where life met the unfortunate pallor of futility and finiteness.
It was too much to think about, even for him. But he liked deep conversations and smiles shared over a meal.
Yet sometimes he felt like too much.
As if he were the universe squashed into the form of a man.
But that was insane, wasn’t it?
