for you to believe in me

for you to stand by me
oh, tell me, what would it take
for a life to matter more
oh, tell me, what would it take
for this hope to thrive on
oh, tell me, what would it take
for you to see past the noise
oh, tell me, what would it take
for you to know what’s fleeing past
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to win out against the dark
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to strive harder for the light
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to beat my own inner demons
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to strive against the powers that be
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to have a little hope in the glass
oh, tell me, what would it take
for me to know what it’s like to love again
