What Did I Learn From 30 Days Worth of Stories in October?

Here’s an update on October 31st.

Somehow, some way, I managed to write 30 witch-themed stories in October:

Honestly, even though I try to publish pretty frequently each month, I had no idea what kind of toll this pace would take on my creative psyche. The end result left me with mixed feelings too, as there were some stories I didn’t feel I “did justice” in such a short span of time.

But what were the highlights? Let’s get to that.

Was it worth it?

From a creative standpoint, I think it was a good exercise. I found myself writing different shades of the same themes along the way, and I was able to coax out more meaning as I revisited certain ideas. Spellbooks and broken hearts appeared quite often.

But as far as revenue? Well, thus far, the 30 stories have made less than $50 collectively. While that’s no slouch of a number — particularly since Medium is not the most lucrative stage for fiction — I honestly didn’t see as…
