We Scream

A Poem

i cast doubt on every hour
(tick, tick, tick BOOM it goes)
and while away moments
too difficult to name.

every hour
i think of you —
and i wonder where
you’re heading

with that mind.

it’s a travesty
i’ll never know
what it’s like
to meet you.

it’s a travesty
i’ll never know
what it’s like
to touch you.

(every moment
has led to this — oh)

and you light my mind up —
like no one else,
like no one else —
but i had no idea what to say.

did you think i was being
some type of coy
every time
i crossed your lane?

did you think i was being
some type of lame
every time
i dressed your fame?
