Vivid in the Violet Light of Another World
Prose Poetry
The dreams spiral, ebbing and flowing like a tide that can’t be reversed.
It’s so much the pity that some are chained to obligations and tasks that choke out the possibility of happy endings.
What if we could step into another world entirely and leave this one far behind?
Do we want to remain stuck int this one spot when out there could be so much more?
Some people chase the high, but us? We just want to survive another day.
Another world would be a gateway to realizations that never once existed on this plane of being.
In this world, we struggle while feasting on the failures of others.
In that other world, we might recognize triumph in more than one guise.
In this world, we are pawns in a greater game that just uses us as fodder.
In that other world, maybe we would have the ability to change our fates more easily.
In this world, love is a weakness — no matter how they try to convince us that it’s the strongest power in the universe.
In that other world, love would be a force that could curtail hatred, pain, and prejudice.
