oh, you make me weak —
do you realize that?
your every single word
undoes me in secret repose.

oh, you make me want to sing
secret songs just for you
till there’s nothing
but us in the quiet.

oh, i thought i knew better
than to court a muse —
but here they are,
maddening me.

oh, your every single line
makes me wonder
what ticks so soft
in that head of yours.

oh, sometimes i think
i know the truth —
but i want you to say
the damning words.

oh, i thought i knew you
in infrequent glimpses —
but do i know a thing at all —
truly, madly, deeply?

oh, i could sing all day
and not be satisfied
for what you’ve done
to me, just me —

oh, i know you have no clue
the hold you have over me —
and that’s fine indeed,
cards…
