Thirty Years Later Does a Lot to Someone
A Tale of Glitz & Glamour — №12
You don’t know her as Katherine Flynn.
You came to know her as Kitty Finley — the movie star whose dozens of films cemented her in the cultural zeitgeist.
Aquatic Dances was her debut role. She played a girl who drowned after losing the love of her life.
Three years later, she was standing on stage for the Academy Awards.
Five years later, she had enough money to retire and live the good life the rest of her days — but she continued making films.
Now she’s sixty years old, and I’m in her living room.
I’m interviewing her for her memoir.
A Tale of Glitz & Glamour was inspired by Taylor Swift’s twelfth album The Life of a Showgirl. The main character is inspired by Taylor Swift’s showgirl character Kitty Finley. Out of copyright concerns, I have added my own embellishments to make the character my own, but each piece was inspired by one of Swift’s songs on the album.
You can stream The Life of a Showgirl now.
