Tigerlily’s brother Michael was in the hospital. Again.
There was a circulation of illness going through Silversundown. It happened every season like clockwork, but she knew better than to trust it as just another run of the flu.
In the waiting room, she ran her fingers along magazines and settled on one about Dahlia Celestia.
The pages were splayed with pictures of the woman dressed to the nines for events all over the city.
Tigerlily shut the magazine and sighed, burying her head in her hands.
Here she was, falling apart over one person.
How could she save a city?
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
