It was another world where Gatsby was chasing Daisy through an alternate timeline. The girl wouldn’t be caught, no matter what he did — and soon enough he might just end things to be free of the longing.
Robots skulked in the neon lights. He lingered on the idea that he was in over his head.
His allies were missing, lost in action.
Daisy was lost in a delusion, it seemed, so far from him and everything he wanted.
I will win you, he wanted to tell her. One way or another.
It was obscene, the way he felt for her.
This series is inspired by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in a city on the brink of dystopian musings. Each story is 100 words, a snapshot of a larger narrative at play.
