The Ugly In Your Beautiful
A Poem
you can play hide and seek
all you want,
but never try to tell me lies
about what kind
of person you really are.
you’re the golden boy for sure,
slick and sleek,
always up for a good time or two —
but no one
knows you like I do.
you thought you’d hide perfectly
behind another mask
because no one was any the wiser
about your image
cloaked in perfect shadows.
your mind was your own personal hell,
every escape blocked,
because you had crafted the flames
one by one
with every heart you hurt and discarded.
you can try to give your defense
and paint deceptions
about what really makes you tick —
but no one
will be fooled when I’m done with you.
oh, you might cower at the thought,
the ivory tower
ready to tumble as debris into the sea —
but worry not
because…
