I’m sitting under a distant star in the simulation.

Every moment I sit inside here, I wish I could sigh aloud — but I brought this upon myself.

Radiance, the AI addresses me, do you see how far you’ve fallen?

I close my eyes. “Of course I do. I never should have gotten involved in war games.”

Good. At least you know you’ve been foolish.

I wander in labyrinths in my mind.

Every day is the same.

I wish I could run away.

But the spaceship continues onward into the expanse.

The AI is my only companion now.

Everyone else died.

This is my third take on the 100 Story Challenge! Lyrics define these stories, and this piece‘s title was inspired by “Lead Me On” from FLETCHER.
