Ophelia sank back into her bed and cried as she stared up at the ceiling.

Somehow, she had survived the assassination attempts and her mad inclination to try drowning. Horatio had kept his promises, but still she sensed there was some calamity ahead.

“Hamlet may be gone,” Horatio told her before he left on his voyage overseas, “but you are your own ship, Lia. Don’t let them tell you otherwise. You forge your own path, no matter what the Fates try to tell you.”

But still the tears came. Anxiety had always been her enemy.

Madness seemed kind in comparison.
