Poetry sang between them as they lay on a blanket in their favorite park. Their eyes met the sky above, its hues speckled with pink and lavender, as they watched the moon begin to chase the sun.

“What are you thinking?” Halcyon asked.

“I’m just thinking about the universe,” Helena murmured, “and wondering how I got so lucky.”

“Lucky? I didn’t think I’d ever hear that word from your mouth.”

Helena couldn’t help grinning. “I believe in the world, and I believe in us.”

“Now you know what you’re talking about,” Halcyon said.

Then they fell into a comfortable silence.
