Into Folklore #1 — “The 1”
“I wanted you,” Vanessa said to Aaron, “but you did nothing. Nothing! It was all me! Just me, standing out there on a ledge, asking you to see me!”
“What do you expect me to do?” the prince asked, his voice tired. He looked as if he had aged a hundred years in moments, but still he stuck to his sensibilities.
“You’re losing me,” she said. “You don’t realize it, but you are. I thought we could have been wonderful.”
And, of course, he said nothing. As usual.
It was no damn surprise.
Soon she would walk away for good.
