Romeo tugged at Juliet’s hand, a plea within the depths of his eyes. “I’m lost without you,” he insisted.

But she withdrew her hand from his grip and frowned at him. “No. You’re not mine. I’m not yours. You had your chance.”

His eyes burned with latent fury. “Do you think I’ll wait for you? Rosaline’s still out there hanging on my every word.”

Juliet shook her head sadly. “Then she too is a fool like I was. I won’t die for you. No woman should have to beg for your graces.”

Then she turned on her heel and left.
