“I’m here,” the young woman said as she held Ariadne’s hand. “The monsters won’t get you here. The labyrinth is lost. You don’t have to run for your life anymore.”

Ariadne sighed in relief as she leaned her head against the other woman’s shoulder.

The girl, so beautiful even without her crown, closed her eyes as if she were at peace. “I did this all for you. Talk about romantic gestures, right?”

A laugh spilled from Ariadne’s mouth. “You’re a bundle of secrets, you know?”

Then there was no need for any more words as they twined their fingers together.
