It’s that time of year again. While everyone else may be shopping for trinkets and doodads for their families, I’m lamenting that I don’t know any readers IRL to buy books for. It would actually be a Christmas miracle for me if I found someone to swap books with in a gift exchange.

Alas, that is not this Christmas.

I’m allowed to dream, though, aren’t I? Here is a list of fifteen books/series I’d love to gift out to the reader friends I wish I had.

For the Reader Who Wants to Try Something New

Tell Me a Dragon by Jackie Morris

I forget how I stumbled upon this book, but it is one of those glorious examples of a “children’s picture book” that I feel adults could enjoy just as much. The illustrations are lush, the dragon lore is wonderful, and it’s just one of those books that should become a beloved classic.
