The Eyes That Haunted Me
Into Folklore #11 — “invisible string”
“Don’t give me those eyes,” Isolde said, taking his hand in hers. “You and I both know this is for the best.”
But Tristan shook his head, the gleam of tears in his eyes. “I would have moved the stars for you. I wish we had more time.”
She squeezed his hand. “Your songs will always be a part of my heart. Believe me.”
He let out a shaky breath. “Will you remember me? Even when no one else does?”
“Of course,” she said, bringing a kiss to his cheek.
Two hearts broke that night — but healing would come soon.
Beautiful beginnings can sometimes come from the weeds. Do you appreciate Taylor Swift’s Folklore album? Then follow along for this series of microfiction; this one was based off “invisible string,” track number eleven.
