“Do you get it now?” Wendy asked. “I wasn’t the fool in this situation. You were. I tried to get you to see so many times, yet you always flew away, going on your solo adventures without me.”

“Did you need an invitation?” Peter sneered.

She stared back at him, stunned, and wondered if this was how Tinker Bell had felt. But what did it matter? Peter had forgotten her.

And he would forget Wendy too.

“I should have let Hook get you,” she whispered, turning away.

Then, with the last of the pixie dust, she flew into the night.
