At Lorraine’s, everyone knew Kitty — so she bypassed the hostess’s podium and headed towards the back room where Lawrence Rothschild waited. A beatific smile widened on his features as she approached; he already had a glass of red wine in front of him, his favorite, probably a vintage from a bottle that cost a week of her salary.
But she slid into the seat across from him after she had shed her coat. “You look happy to see me.”
“I’ve got good news,” he said, somewhat cryptically.
“Yes?”
“Order what you want,” he said, “because your big break’s here, Kitty.”
A Tale of Glitz & Glamour was inspired by Taylor Swift’s twelfth album The Life of a Showgirl. The main character is inspired by Taylor Swift’s showgirl character Kitty Finley. Out of copyright concerns, I have added my own embellishments to make the character my own, but each piece was inspired by one of Swift’s songs on the album.
