The Cursed Bride
#100StoryChallenge — No88
Eloise died before she could walk down the aisle.
Some said it was such a shame, but no one cried at her funeral. Not even her husband-to-be seemed to mourn her. He smiled down at the engagement ring he had pried and reclaimed from her cold finger.
The townspeople should have known better than to incur the wrath of Eloise’s ghost. The young were always more vengeful when they died before their lives could truly begin.
One night, every house’s windows rattled as if a storm were near.
By morning, every man in the town was found dead.
This is a part of my endeavor to go back to writing tighter fiction with more stringent word counts. It’s just one attempt at the 100 Story Challenge because I thought it would be a good exercise to do to keep my imagination sharp. We’ll see how it goes.
