Etienna was the kind of girl who turned heads. It had always been that way, since she was young — but there were women like her across every street corner. It wasn’t hard to find those ladies who sought solace in their looks above all else.

Her boyfriend Terry wasn’t much different. He turned heads too in his own way. But he was always looking for the come up — as if that would do any good. Not when he treated every female he met like a prize to be won.

Women weren’t prizes. And men weren’t treasures.

People were messy, period.
