Red was the sunset dripping along the horizon like a watercolor done by an amateur artist — and your blush told me things that were deeper than any other secret could be.

Orange was the burn of citrus to my tongue as I kissed you goodbye — and I didn’t think the taste would taunt me in the years to come when your absence made me grow far from fond.
