The Careful Art of Trying to Avoid Burnout
I feel like my mind’s been sprinting non-stop since February 2021.
February 2022 marks the one-year anniversary since I started writing online. I joined the platform Vocal Media for their Little Black Book challenge last year, and ever since it has been a long climb uphill. Fiction, poetry, essays — I’ve run the gamut of options.
I joined Medium in April 2021, and I think I’ve hit a groove since I’ve recently opted to schedule my writing for two posts every day. I don’t know how long I can keep up that kind of output; so far, though, I’ve been able to manage my self-inflicted pace.
Some people might say I overdo it — “Why are you saturating the platform with your mediocre attempts?” — but I try to make it so that there’s potentially something for every kind of reader. A lofty goal, I know, but it keeps me motivated.
