The angel was more beautiful than she had been in the dreams that had painted my mind for months.
“Time to move on,” she said, a serene smile on her face as she held out her hand to me. Anyone else might have grabbed hold right away.
But I was stubborn.
I slapped her hand away.
“No,” I said.
She blinked at me. “No?”
I bet no one had ever said it to her from the way she looked.
“I refuse. I still have too much to do.”
The lovely smile curved downward. “You’re going to regret it, you know.”
