Tigerlily had dreams too.
Of golden cities.
Of people she cared about and people she wanted to save.
They peppered her dreams over and over as if they were begging to be beheld in all their glory.
If the end of Silversundown was Lovergirl’s burden to see, then saving it was Tigerlily’s mantle.
But she? She was powerless.
For the moment.
She didn’t realize others were gathering in the shadows.
Waiting to take over Silversundown.
Arrows wouldn’t win a silent war.
Tigerlily went out into the night again, burdened with her arrows, and wondered.
Just what was it all worth?
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
