The woods weren’t meant for a rendezvous — though you couldn’t have told the prince of Elfhame that. He did what he wanted when he wanted with whom he wanted.

It was quite the life, all things considering.

Tonight’s maid was lovely and pert in all the right ways. It was so easy to lean into the softness of her and inhale her rich scent. Ambrosia didn’t even smell as sweet.

It was just as simple to let his mask slip, a howl rising in his throat as the clouds parted and revealed a full moon.

She never saw him coming.

This is a part of my endeavor to go back to writing tighter fiction with more stringent word counts. It’s just one attempt at the 100 Story Challenge because I thought it would be a good exercise to do to keep my imagination sharp. We’ll see how it goes.
