Standing Still

A Poem

i always wondered
if you were standing in that same place
where i was —

so is it true?

would you still meet me at the altar
if i ever dared to ask?

or are you too afraid?

tell me, speak the words, or i’ll forever leave you in peace —

that’s what i want to say,
but it’s too late
because i’m already far gone
on your line again and again

(over and over and over again)

i tried to love,
i tried to find something else,
but nothing ever felt as right
as those moments when i twined with you

in words that were greater than us —

or do you feel differently?

tell me —
again and again —
in words i can understand.

i wanted you,
and i saw you through the glass,
and i thought you were my forever.

tell me, again and again,
what you want to do.
