She’s a Vision

A Poem

there’s a face you see so often —
lipstick ready, toner on,
smile poised on a mouth
you’ve kissed too many times

oh, who could hate her?
she’s a vision,
she’s a vision —
and she’s yours

you try to tug at threads
spinning all those webs
between you, between you —
as if you’ll never be parted

oh, who could despise her?
she’s a vision,
she’s a vision —
and she’s yours

you can’t imagine a world
without her, without her —
and why should you care
when she has eyes only for you?

oh, who could malign her?
she’s a vision,
she’s a vision —
and she’s yours

there will be days
where you wonder why
she chooses to stay
beside a man like you
