A Poem

a moment splashes into others —
a hundred thousand lifetimes
clashing, unknowable,
in uncertain circumstances

i fell away
to untitled bliss

i fell away
to unwanted class

all the time —
i thought there were mirrors,
but really all there is —
is just me, looking back in tentative reflection

(say what you will, say what you will —
it was never a matter of getting by;
say what you will, say what you will —
it was never a matter of trying so hard)

and in this glass
i find some hopeless endeavor
and in this glass
i see some winsome effect

do you hear it,
or shall i speak it
through a thousand words?

take all this blasphemy
and lay it on the road

take all these falsehoods
and create a better plan
