The theatre was the perfect place to spy on people, Aphrodite noticed.
Her sisters, Pandora and Cassandra, giggled in the seats beside her. Aphrodite rolled her eyes. Children like them didn’t belong, but their parents had insisted.
“Is there anything I can do for you, miss?” a nearby usher asked, and Aphrodite schooled her expression so it was pleasant instead of sour.
“Nothing for right now,” she said, offering a gleaming smile.
The poor boy blushed, and Aphrodite felt triumphant.
It seemed she had been named after the goddess of love and beauty for a reason.
Her smile only grew.
This is a part of my endeavor to go back to writing tighter fiction with more stringent word counts. It’s just one attempt at the 100 Story Challenge because I thought it would be a good exercise to do to keep my imagination sharp. We’ll see how it goes.
