Lovergirl and Tigerlily weren’t the only ones who were having dreams.
Ghostboy had his own.
In one dream, he became a villain named Overlord.
The dream was murky — the details shifting too quickly for him to capture — but he awoke covered in sweat, tangled in his bed sheets.
He covered his face with his hands and groaned.
“You won’t be a villain,” he told himself. “You won’t fall to their level. You’re at the top for a reason. You won’t fall. You won’t fall.”
He couldn’t imagine falling from his precipice.
How would he ever recover?
Adam Golding wasn’t weak.
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
