I first saw her in the garden she tended in my brother Zeus’s realm.
She was his ward — a girl he had taken into his home after her mother died — but what struck me was how her eyes gleamed as if there were secrets she kept from everyone else.
I knew a thing or two about secrets — but I dealt in death and curses, not the breath of life.
Her blooms would have withered under my touch.
But then there came a day when she arrived in my realm, begging for a favor and an escape.
How could I refuse?
