#100StoryChallenge — No33
The stars were her goal — first, last, always.
When she was a little girl, she would wave her hand across that beautiful expanse of sky and wish she could capture every single shooting star.
The neighborhood boys would laugh at her when she told them she wanted to be a pilot for the Argent Guard someday.
“You? You’re just a tiny slip of a thing!”
“You’d crash before you even left the ground.”
Only Mother would console her when she cried.
“You show those boys,” Mother would say. “You’ll leave them in the dust someday.”
And she was still waiting.
