She’s waiting just for me.

It’s the same every time. We’ve perfected it to an art in the months we’ve been meeting.

She arrives first, her alias and its credit card attached the key factors. Then she says she’s expecting a guest. They never bother with questions because they surmise from how she’s dressed that she comes from old money — and that requires no explanation to people working the graveyard shifts at ritzy hotels.

Then, an hour later, I arrive. I always wear a suit. They never question me either.

Only when we’re both in the room do the disguises slip.

“Playtime?” she asks, smiling.
