Tigerlily proved to be her own match for Ghostboy too. He couldn’t possess her like he could the others. He could force his will on almost anyone, but she was immune.
The first time they met — in a museum in Silversundown — she held an arrow aloft, aimed straight at his chest.
“You’d shoot down a hero? Really?”
Tigerlily narrowed her eyes. “Are you a hero, though? When you sit back and do nothing for people who really need it?”
The arrow then flew and hit a light behind him. The museum room descended into darkness.
“What you do? It’s performative.”
The Chronicles of Ghostboy and Lovergirl is a microfiction series inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album (released 2019). Each story can be read as a standalone, but they build on each other for this superhero universe I’ve created.
