Only the Creepy Guys Give Me the Time of Day

Sometimes I wonder if there are worse things than being alone. This question especially comes to mind when I talk to guys I happen to meet in day-to-day life.

As a young woman in her prime, I like meeting people beyond the barrier of a screen — even though most of the time I feel like I’m in some hidden-camera show that documents my every aghast reaction at just how weird people can be. I don’t know if it’s something in the water in my area, but the guys especially come off as…odd. There have been a few “memorable” encounters over the years.

Now, keep in mind: I met all of these guys at the local bar my uncle frequents. While a bar setting might be a sign of red flags to come in and of itself, I try not to judge people by where they choose to spend their time — well, so long as nothing illegal happens. Last I checked, strangeness wasn’t a criminal offense.

It’s when the strangeness veers into creepy territory that I tend to back away.
