Hamlet’s eyes were silver-gray like a wolf’s as he surveyed her.

No one ever taught her how to love, but he had taken her by the hand and tried to show her in whatever way he could.

But then she tried to drown herself in a pool of delusion. Her lips had turned blue from the chill of the water.

“You are a mad thing,” he said, brushing his fingertips against her hair.

She stared at him as if he were a ghost. “You have made me mad.”

He sighed, the sound soft like falling rain. “True,” he admitted.
