Ode to Emma
Life Was a Willow and More — #10
Emma was a prideful girl, it was true, but she had her admirers regardless.
There was the tailor who took the commissions for her dresses. He looked upon her with kind eyes, but she never looked his way.
There was the shopkeeper at the popular sweets shop. He offered her free bon-bons, but she never took one even as her friends looked on with envy.
There was the stablehand who always took care of her best horse.
She wouldn’t realize it for a long while, but George Knightley was her true love.
Alas, these things do not come easily.
Welcome to my tribute for the 3-year anniversary of Taylor Swift’s album Evermore. This is an ode to “ivy,” the tenth song of the album.
