My Palindrome Girl

How could I ever know what was going through her head?

Aviva.

I liked her name from the first time she whispered it to me over cocktails at the bar.

“It’s a palindrome,” I said, sipping at my whiskey sour before grinning at her. “I can tell you’re going to be full of surprises.”

“Oh, really? Using big words on me already?” She lifted her eyebrows. “What else can you do with that mouth of yours?”

I shook my head and laughed. “Don’t tempt me.”

“Oh, maybe I want to tempt you,” she said, her eyes shining in the dark. “Look, you’re blushing.”

My palindrome girl.

That was just the start.
