My most-read fiction on here is unsurprisingly the more "saucy" stuff (and, given how I write, the readers probably come away feeling cheated). I never thought of myself as a short fiction writer - my eyes were always on The Novel - but writer friends do tend to label me as such. And it's a bit depressing since the short story market isn't even like what it was when heavy hitters like Stephen King and Neil Gaiman started out. I don't know. I just try to keep my eye on the prize - which is first and foremost writing what I enjoy, whatever that means for me at the time.
