I’ve been quiet when it comes to notions of love, crushes, and relationships — but, looking back, I actually have quite the backlog to condense into a handy little guide for those looking for it. You might even think, “Wow, Jillian, for someone who’s unlucky in love you sure have a lot to say!” Yes, dear reader, this is indeed the case.

I don’t know how it came to be this way, but there’s a certain catharsis that comes with laying a would-be connection to rest with the help of writing. Though I don’t share exact details — or even specifics that might name the innocent (or the potentially guilty)— I have mulled over plenty of things since my last compilation of articles.

I’m much more a fiction writer than an essayist, but it’s freeing to be able to put these stories out there. I’ll never be able to say all of what I wanted to say to the people who made me feel these specific ways; even so, I get the closure I need through the words I write. And what better way to put potential demons to their final resting places?

Not all of it is about unrequited love and pining, of course.

I’m still trying to figure out who I am exactly in conjunction with how that would intertwine with a relationship…
