did you think i was a pretty face
with nothing underneath?

did i fool you enough
to wipe that smile off your face?

rumors fly, gossip reigns,
and i’m just waiting for a moment
to show you all my claws
just in case you thought i was weak.

love me, hate me,
you don’t wanna be me.

did you think i’d go away easy
like a ghost disappearing by sunrise?

did i tempt you once
only to laugh in your face?

the talk goes ‘round and ‘round,
and i’m taking in all the attention
because the spotlight loves me
more than you ever did.

love me, hate me,
you don’t wanna be me.

did you think i was your perfect crime
where you didn’t need to pay a price?

did i hurt your feelings
when you realized how much i lied?
