Love At First Sight
#100StoryChallenge — No70
Cupid wasn’t a human gimmick. They just got her story wrong most of the time.
Venus would have coddled a son, but she envied the actuality of the daughter she had crafted from the embers of a long-lost love. Who could be more lovely than the goddess of beauty herself?
Cupid herself didn’t care about her mother’s hang-ups. In this world, there was only one way up: you had to step over everyone in front of you. An inheritance from the gods didn’t matter.
And love? It was only a momentary misstep.
At least until Cupid met Psyche.
This is a part of my endeavor to go back to writing tighter fiction with more stringent word counts. It’s just one attempt at the 100 Story Challenge because I thought it would be a good exercise to do to keep my imagination sharp. We’ll see how it goes.
