Like There’s No Tomorrow
A Poem
2 min readDec 10, 2022
we walked around in circles
downtown
and we lost each other
somewhere
along the way
i thought we’d love free
and die hard,
just like any old day
till we were
just patient echoes
but it’s another year
and i’m missing you
and i wonder
if there will ever be
a moment just like ours
and i loved you
more than i should have
and i called out
as if you being there
would change my life
but you wouldn’t
have made any difference —
just like fortune
would never smile on me,
no matter how i cried
i take to these old urban streets
and wind through them
as if all the scenes
would save me
from boredom
